Whew, what a busy Saturday! I’m just sitting down for the first time all day and I’m sure I’m gonna sleep well tonight.
After taking Friday as another rest day from workouts I was ready to get in some exercise this morning. I usually sick with Lisa-Marie’s workouts on BodyRock but today I decided to try Sean’s 420 rep bodyweight workout. Usually Sean’s workouts are very “boy.” He usually has a lot of sandbag lifts and a lot of lats and just boy moves but since this one was all bodyweight I thought I might like it.
Yikes! It was hard. I skipped the pull ups and only did two rounds. It took me 20 minutes. I could have done a third round but I wanted to be able to get up off the floor after! I still had a full day ahead of me and I thought three rounds might whip me out. All the jumps and sort of half burpee moves really work my legs. Now that I’m finally sitting, when I get up my legs may no longer work. Good stuff.
After the workout I whipped up a banana protein pancake.
These are so good a a post workout meal and are made just like the others but with 1/2 a mashed banana in place of the berries.
Banana Protein Pancakes
- Two egg whites
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 a banana, mashed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and cook like you would a pancake. 2-3 minutes on each side.
After a much needed grocery run, lunch was this salad with tuna.
One of these apples served as my side.
After lunch we went for a very long and slow hike (you can find the details in Sophie’s post).
Now I have a confession……
I’m terrible at commitment.
I haven’t been able to stick to giving up sweets. This was not my first slip up.
Dinner was soooo yummy!
The rest of my evening includes a new book.
I’ve heard great things about this. Hope I love it. It seems lately that I start a lot of new books but never finish them.
